Scuba Diving with Savedra in Moalboal, Cebu

Diving in Moalboal is easy and well organized. Especially popular is the fact that we offer every day 3 boat dives to our nearby dive spots and that we come back to the dive center after every dive. That guarantees individual and easy dive planning.

 

Boat Diving

Dive activities start as early as 7 am. Three guided boat dives are offered, usually at 7:30 am, 10:15 am and 2:30 pm. Most of the dive sites are really close and can be reached within 10-20 minutes. A signboard with dive destinations of the following day is placed in the dive center late afternoon. The time of departure, the name of the dive spot and the maximum depth of the dive site is noted on this signboard. Divers can enlist themselves for these dives as they please. Between the boat dives the boat always returns to the dive center to give our divers the opportunity to rest or to rest or to grab some food in one of the plentiful restaurants along the beach. To conduct shore dives between or after the boat dives is another option available for our divers. All three boat dives and all shore dives in daytime are included in our Non-Limit Dive Package.

Shore Diving

Diving at our house reef is very easy and really good. The house reef consists of a shallow coral plateau that leads to impressive drop-off with a steep wall plummeting to depth of more than 50 meters (170 feet). The reef is covered with hard and soft corals and is inhabited by the typical reef dwellers and the occasional turtle (even on night dives). Experienced and advanced divers can explore this reef on their own, in buddy teams, after the mandatory check dive. And we don't charge extra for check dives, they are just a nice shore dive with a short check-up at thebeginninh of the dive. To dive the house reef on your own you have to record your time-in and time-out at a separated list inside the dive center. Unlimited shore dives during daytime are included in our Non-Limit Dive Packages.

Night Diving

Guided night dives at the house reef are offered every evening at 6:00 pm. Individual night dives in buddy teams are also possible, latest return to the dive center is 8:30 pm. Once or twice a week night dives with a boat are offered, too. Night diving is not included in our Non-Limit Dive Packages.

General Dive Limitations

Generally the recreational dive limits apply on all our dives (except for technical divers). This includes the maximum depth limit of 40 meters / 130 feet, no decompression diving and a mandatory safety stop at 5 meters / 15 feet. For individual night dives in buddy teams the maximum dive time is 90 minutes.

Nitrox - for free ?

We have our own Nitrox blending station and blend Trimix, too. Nitrox for free? Sorry, we don't offer Nitrox for free since it doesn't come to us for free either. Nitrox comes at a cost everywhere, other operators just hide the price tag somewhere else, like a generally higher dive price or in other services like food or accommodation. Dive Safety and Additional Services

Even though most dive spots can be reached within 10-20 minutes, our boats are equipped with extensive emergency equipment like oxygen, medic first aid kits and cellular phones. We work hard to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all our customers. It may be necessary for us to use additional staff, schedule additional class, pool, or open water sessions or make other accommodations for our customers to ensure the best possible experience. If you have special needs, or would like to have a dive professional to guide your dives, please contact us in advance to make the necessary arrangements. These additional services may require an additional fee above our standard rates. We're happy to work with you to the best of our abilities to make your experience with Savedra fun and rewarding.

Moalboal Marine Park Fee

Since January 1, 2008, the Moalboal Provincial Government established a Marine Park Entrance Fee System based on Tickets. Tickets are purchased for a fee of 100 Pesos (about 2.25$) per dive. The local government will utilize these funds to finance a number of high priority conservation programs in the area, including patrols and enforcement to abolish destructive fishing practices such as blast and cyanide fishing, village improvement programs within the park, collection and disposal of plastic and other wastes entering the park's waters, marine conservation education of village children and adults, and reef and mangrove rehabilitation. Tickets can be purchased through marine tourism operators based in Moalboal, or at the dive center. We greatly appreciate your support and cooperation with this entrance fee system. Conservation of Moalboal's spectacular marine habitats requires funding, and your entrance fee is a valuable contribution to saving Moalboal's reefs.
