Empowering Women in Diving: The Last PADI IDC of 2024
As the year draws to a close, we’re thrilled to reflect on the success of our final PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) of 2024 at Savedra PADI 5* Eco Career Development Centre. Over two action-packed weeks, the course was a whirlwind of learning, growth, and unforgettable moments. This IDC stood out as a milestone for many reasons, including the incredible achievements of Instructor Candidate Steph and Staff Instructor Jimmela, who thrived under the expert guidance of Course Director Koz.
Celebrating Success and New Beginnings
Steph, with her determination and passion, has exemplified the spirit of diving professionals. Supported by Jimmela, whose energy and mentorship were truly inspiring, the duo navigated the challenges of the IDC with flying colors. Steph’s growth over the two weeks was remarkable, and we couldn’t be prouder of her as she prepares for the PADI Instructor Exams.
Steph, from all of us at Savedra, we wish you every success in the exams and in your future career. Your journey is just beginning, and we’re excited to see the amazing things you will accomplish as a PADI Instructor.
An All-Female IDC: A Vision for the Future
What made this IDC even more special was its unique dynamic—it was entirely female! The shared camaraderie and mutual support between Steph and Jimmela sparked an idea that has us buzzing with excitement. We’re planning to host an all-female IDC sometime next year!
This initiative aims to empower more women to step into leadership roles within the diving community. By fostering an inclusive and encouraging environment, we hope to inspire women divers to pursue their dreams of becoming instructors and ambassadors for our oceans.
