Where to start?

Getting started with technical diving can be confusing, there are options for which training agency to study under, what level to to enter at, what courses to combine, where to pause formal training for a while and gain some experience, it’s a lot to take on. The best approach is to get in touch with us, and have a chat by email, messenger or phone, with one of our Technical Instructors, or Technical Instructor Trainers. We can talk you through course options, agency standards, and recommend a personal training path for you, no commitment, just friendly advice.

Invested in your development

We take a great deal of pride in these programs and want you to get as much from them as possible. With that in mind anyone who completes a certification technical program (tec 40,45,50 etc), including instructor programs, is welcome to join any future course we run. We do not charge you any courses fees for this, classroom sessions are free, for dives we only ask you to cover costs. This way you can be sure we put our very best into any program we conduct, and you can attain the level of knowledge and skill you hoped for.

TDI Decompression Procedures

This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. This program is designed as a stand-alone course or it may be taught in conjunction with TDI Advanced Nitrox, Advanced Wreck, or Extended Range Course. The objective of this course is to train divers in the proper techniques, equipment requirements, and hazards of deep air diving to a maximum of 55 meters utilizing nitrox mixtures or oxygen for staged decompression.

  • Duration 3 days
  • Prerequisites for this program:
    • Minimum age 18
    • Certified as a TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and TDI Decompression Procedures Diver, or equivalents
    • Provide proof of a minimum of 100 logged dives, of which 25 must be deeper than 30 meters.
TDI Nitrox Gas Blender

This course provides the training required to allow candidates to competently and safely blend nitrox gas. The objective of this course is to train candidates in the proper techniques, equipment requirements and hazards involved in blending nitrox gases for recreational scuba.

  • Duration 1 day
  • Prerequisites for this program:
    • Minimum age 18
TDI Advanced Gas Blender

This course enables the successful candidate to engage in the blending of oxygen and helium based gasses. The objective of this course is to train candidates in the proper procedures needed for the preparation and blending of high quality nitrox and trimix gases for use in technical diving.

  • Duration 1 day
  • Prerequisites for this program:
    • Minimum age 18
    • Proof of TDI Nitrox Gas Blender cert or equivalent

PADI Tec Diver Courses

PADI Tec 40

The first of PADIs technical diver certifications, this course will take you through the proper use of technical diving equipment, dive planning using desktop decompression software and the motor skills and techniques required for Tec diving. You will be certified to plan and execute limited decompression dives.

  • Duration 4 days
  • Prerequisites for this program:
    • Be at least 18 years old
    • Hold an advanced diver certification
    • Hold an enriched air nitrox diver certification
    • Either be certified as a Deep dive specialist or have logged at least 10 dives to 30 meters or deeper
    • Have logged at least 30 dives, at least 10 of which were done using EANx deeper than 18 meters
PADI Tec 45

The second of PADI’s Tec diver programs trains divers with the procedures and knowledge to plan and execute dives to 45 meters.  This course extends the divers limits in terms of depth, dive time and additional decompression gases. Skills learned during level 1 will be further refined, and basic technical diver rescue techniques are covered.

  • Duration 4 days
  • Prerequisites for this program:
    • Be at least 18 years old
    • Rescue diver certification
    • A Tec 40 certification or equivalent
PADI Tec 50

Tec50 introduces accelerated decompression, switching between high oxygen breathing gases during the ascent to shorten the required decompression time. This increases your range considerably. During this course you will be using up to three breathing gases during a dive, two of which are used for decompression.

  • Duration 4 days
  • Prerequisites for this program:
    • Be at least 18 years old
    • A tec 45 certification or equivalent
PADI Tec Level 1, 2 and 3 combined

PADI Tec Sidemount

This introduces the sidemount configuration, along with the proper use of decompression cylinders set up for sidemount. The course contains simulated decompression procedures, this makes it suitable for Technical Divers wishing to cross over to this configuration, or non-tec divers to be trained both in proper use of sidemount, and practice some basic decompression procedures. Note that Tec Sidemount may be combined with PADI Tec 40, 45 or 50, please ask us for more information.

PADI Tec Gas Blender EANx

The gas blender course is an ideal accompaniment to any technical diver course, during these programs you learn not only how to blend gas, but more about oxygen service, compatibility and cleaning. You will develop an understanding of a variety of blending systems, and hands on experience with partial pressure and continuous flow systems. After successfully completing this program you will be qualified to blend Enriched Air Nitrox blends for recreational and technical diving.

  • Duration 1.5 days
  • Prerequisites for this program:
